A couple of days ago I was looking through my wallet, and I realised that my Student Transport pass expired on the 31st of March of this year; looking at it I also realised that really, truly, my days in boarding school are over. I’m grateful for being allowed to come back. I’m grateful it’s all over and I’m grateful for where I am at -home- where I’ll be till I get to uni.
Kids by B.o.B originally by MGMT (from BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge)
Okay, I’ve been on a personal MGMT cover moratorium since the beginning of this year—it is very similar to the self-imposed Jay-Z mash-up moratorium. Anyway, I saw this cover on feats-of-strength and was genuinely interested, not knowing what to expect. Let’s just say that the cover is good enough for me to temporarily break my self-imposed MGMT cover song moratorium. —NJ
I’ve told this to a couple of people now, this is my summer project, but it’s probably going to become a mid-term one now instead. I need people for a Brunei Streetstyle Blog. You may not think Bruneians are stylish, but I’m pretty sure there are some out there, but we gotta find them. Even if you think a majority of the population is poklen, poklen-style is still considered a style, therefore it should be documented as well. So now I am asking for help: in the form of trusty sidekicks who are willing to walk around Brunei stalking poklen, with a camera slung around their neck. Who’s with me.
Bubble-gum pop for all who still believe in love. If this song were a sweet, I suppose it would be a chocolate bar with a coconut filling, to reflect the Carribean influenced beat, but at the same time, it would probably be a gobstopper, because once it’s in your head, it stays, lasts like a gobstopper, you can’t help humming the happy tune.
I suppose I shall miss the way Simon Cowell winks at the contestants of American Idol.
But then again, he may have left American Idol, but he’ll still be in Britain’s Got Talent. Seriously, someone should make a .gif of him winking.
Oh, and don’t you think it’s too predictable who will win American Idol? Obviously the dreadlocked, guitar-toting Crystal Bowersox, judging by the comments from the judges she’s probably in it to win it this time, no contest, no ‘the underdog wins’ like last season.
Today I felt like writing a long-ish, reflective post, rather than doing my usual link-posting, video-posting self, so here you go.
I suppose today I was meant to be studying my maths, BUT I ended up getting all funny and nostalgic, and I DECIDED TO LOOK UP MY OLD FRIENDSTER ACCOUNT.
It’s a horror, I tell you. The photos, the sticky caps, the really lame talk that I had going on. It’s horrible. I can’t imagine how I would have thought that was great in the past. It’s plain tacky. (excuse my self-criticism)
I suppose ever since I moved schools I stopped being so narcissistic, I stopped doing that whole cam-whore thing with the averted, huge eyes. Needless to say, I should have got rid of it ages ago when I moved on to Facebook, so as to prevent these people sending me all these greetings which I never replied to.
In abandoning my friendster, I left a pocket of myself on the internet, like one of those time-capsules that you can go back on and look at. A three-year time capsule, at that, a source of entertainment on a Saturday afternoon on the weekend before a major exam week. I’d say now that I’ve changed a whole lot. It’s like one of those before and after things that I like watching, except this time the subject of this is me. Scary, I tell you.
On his way to work one day, Joel (Bodhi Elfman) is impaled through the chest by a three-foot arrow. But it doesn’t harm him. And it won’t come out. So Joel has to learn to deal – both with his newfound protrusion, and his own painful loneliness. He tries to go to work, to date women, but no one seems ready to accept his strange flaw. Little does he know, his life is about to change forever…(struckthefilm.com)
A short film that has won many awards. You absolutely have to watch it, it is so cute!
I don’t think I’ve told you that I managed to get a camera battery charger, so it’s up and working now. The only thing is now I need things to take photos of, and time to do so. (it’s currently on my list of things to do after exams) Time because exams are in less than a week, had my first one on Tuesday this week, a couple of days back, my next one is next Friday, coupled with English.
I should really be getting off now but here’s something else you can procastinate with. I don’t know about you but I like before and after videos, and this is one of those: Japanese Girls and the new Wig fad.
